Objective
Our client wanted a consistent experience for their multi-wave and multi-destination program. The program had to appeal to families and create an intimate, friendly atmosphere even with such large numbers. Top Performers in each wave continued onto Lake Louise for a VIP extension of their Vancouver incentive experience. Both locations had to reflect unique destination experiences.
Challenges
- Consistency! We hoped to improve upon small details that would make the next wave just a little bit better. However, no changes were permitted as the client valued consistency above all else.
- We had to change the outdoor set-up slightly for each wave depending on the weather, yet still maintain a consistent experience.
Strategy
- Design and carefully plan event concepts that would appeal to a variety of age groups, be family-friendly, fun, interactive and easily replicated 6 times.
- Vancouver events reflected the personality of the city while Lake Louise embraced an across-Canada story.
- Our winning concept, “In the Neighbourhood”, incorporated stylized vignettes with facades and props representative of popular Vancouver areas like Gastown, Granville Island and Little Italy/Commercial Drive.
- Interactive zones with activities, entertainment and food service ideas like a photo station at ‘Granville Island’, a Pasta Station in ‘Little Italy’ and a busker-style bubble artist outside on the Vancouver Convention Centre plaza.
The Result
Consistency! In addition to replicating environments for the evening functions, we had the same friendly faces providing services throughout the program. We ensured the same Travel Specialists took care of arriving and departing guests, hosted registration desks at the same hotel, loaded coaches and assisted at events throughout the program. Strong bonds were created between our team members and guests; many staff received big hugs and tears from the little ones who were going to miss seeing their “purple people” each day.
