For the third consecutive year, Pacific Destination Services has taken home a top prize at the Canadian Special Events Awards.
The honour of Outstanding Logistical Achievement was bestowed upon Pacific Destination Services in conjunction with Dragonfly Meetings and The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel for the ‘National Partners’ Meeting Tunnel 9 Welcome Event’ that took place in Banff, Alberta in September 2016.
The largest outdoor event of its kind ever produced in the Rockies was staged on two fairways of the pristine Tunnel 9 Golf Course at the Fairmont Banff Springs, and included the largest clear-span, clear top tent ever built in the region. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on Tunnel’s 9th fairway kicked off the night, followed by a family-style dinner on the adjacent hole. Invited to the dining tent, guests wandered an artfully designed path of illuminated twig orbs to the shimmering cleartop. Beneath the clear-span tent, some 40,000 sq. feet of faux hardwood flooring created multi-tiered seating. Harvest tables, brilliant sprays of fresh florals, and tasteful décor made this pop-up venue shine. A renowned Canadian singer/song-writer surprised this global audience, stepping on to a revolving stage for a private performance under the stars during the dessert course. The stage, itself a masterfully designed component, paired with IMAG screens provided guests with the “best seat in the house,” no matter where they sat.
This event would never have been possible without a shared vision and team collaboration. We would like to thank our client, our partners and our suppliers for their willingness to come along on our ride, to trust in our judgement, and to help us work past every logistical challenge presented and allowing us to do what we do best — produce award-winning events for our valuable clients!.
